Parallel Loopers

You’ve heard of parallel dimensions. How about a parallel looper? Parallel loopers can open your rig to entirely new soundscapes. Most pedal chains are serial, meaning that one device feeds its output signal into the device after it and so on. This means that each device can affect whatever device, or devices, are before/after it. That can be a good thing, but you’re never quite getting the true or ‘pure’ sound of that device. With parallel signal paths, however, the signal is split, with each split signal going to the device. That means that each device gets the original input signal, rather than the signal from whatever is upstream. The signals are then recombined using active mixing circuitry so that you can customize a blended sound of whatever you place in the parallel loops.

Our parallel loopers use buffered splitters to split the incoming signal. Each send jack has its own separate buffer circuit. This keeps the signals strong and ensures there is no interaction between the channels. The return signals go through volume controls and then on/off switches. This allows you to set the volume for each channel and switch the channels on/off to bring the parallel loops in and out of the mix. An active mixer circuit blends the sounds to create rich and complex soundscapes.

Please note: parallel loopers (other than the parallel pedal) are custom made-to-order with a turnaround of approximately 3-4 weeks.

If you’re looking for more standard (serial) looper fare, check out our single or multi-loop true bypass loopers.

New for 2025! Parallel Pedal

Our simply parallel pedal streamlines our parallel looper concept into its core elements: a 2-way active/buffered splitter and a 2-channel active summer combined into one enclosure. The parallel pedal lets you set up a simple 2-channel parallel setup with a single combination splitter/summer. You can check out a quick demo of how the parallel pedal works on our YouTube channel.

Double Parallel Looper

Our double parallel loopers allow you to blend the sounds of two parallel loops, with or without a third dry channel, with level controls and on/off switches for the loops for extra control over the soundscapes you create.

Our double parallel looper with phase allows you to flip the phase of one of the loops. This can help if you’re experience out of phase issues with the devices you put in the loops.

Neither the standard double parallel looper nor the double parallel looper + phase have a third dry channel. Therefore, if both loops are switched off, the output will be silent.

The versions with a dry channel feature a third ‘straight through’ parallel channel, with a level control but no footswitch, which allows you to blend the ‘clean’ dry signal as an extra parallel signal along with the two parallel loops.

Check our our demo video of a 2-parallel looper with a dry channel.

Please note: the double parallel looper is not true bypass in that there isn’t an option for the signal to not pass through one of the three parallel channels. If you would like to create a true bypass setup with the double parallel looper, you can either put the double parallel looper in the loop of a single true bypass loop switch (effectively creating a master bypass), or select a larger parallel looper that features a true bypass master bypass switch.

3/4/5-Parallel Looper

The parallel looper first splits the incoming signal into three, four, or five channels, depending on the version. Each of the channels has its own buffer. The individual buffers keep the signal strong and ensure there is no interaction between the channels.  The split signals go to loops, where you add your own sonic flavors. The loop returns have volume controls and on/off switches, which allow you to tweak each channel as it goes to the mixer. The mixer section then seamlessly blends the signals from the loops.

The parallel multi-looper features either three-five loops with an extra switch as a master bypass, allowing you to bypass the parallel setup completely and send your signal directly to your amp.

The 4-parallel looper with phase switches features active phase switch circuits on the returns of the four loops, in case you encounter any out-of-phase issues while mixing your signals.

The bass version tweaks the design to allow the bass’ lower frequencies to enter the buffer circuit.

4-Parallel Looper + Dry Channel

The 4-Parallel looper + dry channel features four parallel loops plus a fifth dry channel in order to mix the incoming ‘dry’ signal with whatever you have in the parallel loops.

Parallel Looper with Phase Switches

The loopers with phase switches add active phase-reversing circuits to help with any out-of-phase issues that can happen when summing.

Please note: the 4-parallel looper + phase switches features a fifth master bypass switch that bypasses all the active circuitry. The 5-parallel looper + phase does not have a master bypass switch. Its five switches are on/off switches for the parallel loops.

Bass Mod

The bass mod allows more lower-range frequencies to enter the circuit. The mod doesn’t cut any highs and therefore can also be used with guitars. If you would like to add a bass mod to any parallel looper, head on over to our custom upgrades page where you can add this mod at no additional cost.
