Description

The Saturnworks headphone amp enables you to listen to your guitar through headphones or earbuds, for tuning or quiet practicing.

Headphone Amp

The Saturnworks headphone amp pedal switches between an amplified 1/4″ (TRS) headphone output jack and a true bypass output. The headphone out allows you to silently tune or to quietly practice. Also, with the headphone amp pedal, you don’t even need an amp. You can use the headphone pedal by itself, without an amplifier at all, to quietly practice. You can hear yourself play, rather than angry complaints from the neighbors.

Headphone Amp with Aux / MP3 Input

The MP3 input version adds a stereo aux input plus an active mixer circuit. This allows you to mix a stereo signal, from inputs such as a phone or computer, to your guitar signal. The headphone amp sums both the guitar and stereo aux inputs to mono and switch the signal either to headphones or to your amp. This setup lets you play along with your favorite music, either through headphones or through your amp. This version has separate level controls for each input (guitar + MP3) and a level control for the headphone circuit. The footswitch bypasses the headphone circuitry and sends the summed guitar + MP3 signal to the amp output jack.

The headphone amp comes with a 1/4″ to 1/8″ adapter so that you can use it with smaller headphones and earbuds. The aux input version comes with two adapters, so you can easily connect your headphones and MP3 input.

Please note: The aux input version of our headphone amp is custom built-to-order and ships within approximately 2-3 weeks.

Please note: The signals going to the headphones are not stereo. The headphone outputs are two copies of the same mono signal.

Please note: Since the headphone pedal comes before the amplifier, it will not sound like your amplifier. The sound coming through the headphones will be the ‘pure’ signal, as it sounds before it hits your amp. Many of your effects, particularly fuzzes and distortion pedals, may sound different than you’re using to hearing them through your amp’s speakers. This may seem obvious, but we have had customers complain that the headphone amp didn’t sound like their amplifier. If you want the headphone amp to sound more like an amp, you can use the headphone amp in conjunction with a ‘cab simulator‘ device.
