Description

Unlock otherworldly noise with a Saturnworks feedback looper.

A feedback looper pedal simply sends the output signal back to the loop’s input. This can produce some very interesting results ranging from oscillating, growling, chirping sounds, to flat out noise, to nothing. The key to the feedback looper is experimentation. Some pedals can produce great results while some have little to no effect at all. You can also try various combinations of pedals. Your pickups and pickup selector position as well as your volume and tone controls also have a tremendous effect on the sound produced. The pedal’s control knob determines the amount of feedback being sent back to the input. Sometimes you may need to turn it all the way up while other times you may find a sweet spot with the level turned low. If you’re having trouble creating feedback, check out our FAQ page for tips on using feedback loopers.

If making a lot of complex noise is something you’re into, then look no further. The feedback pedal provides a strange sonic landscape and you never know what you’re going to get.

Feedback looper

The feedback looper has two footswitches: one to engage the loop and the other to engage the feedback effect. It also features a feedback control knob and a volume control knob for the loop.

Compact Latching Feedback Looper

The compact latching feedback looper is a simple feedback looper with its footswitch only applying feedback. It has a hardwired loop that requires a device in its loop in order for signal to pass through. The switch features an LED indicator to let you know that the feedback switch is on and a level knob to set the feedback. It is a passive design and the power only makes the LED light up. We have a video showing how the compact latching version works here.

Momentary Feedback Loopers

The compact momentary feedback looper uses a momentary switch rather than a latching switch. Holding the switch down switches on the feedback. Releasing the footswitch switches the effect off. The switch only engages feedback. This pedal doesn’t work like a regular true bypass looper in that it doesn’t bypass the loop with the switch off. It requires a pedal to be in its loop in order for signal to pass through it. For a demo of the momentary feedback looper, click here. Also check out this impressive video a momentary feedback looper making some amazing noise.

The deluxe momentary feedback looper features both options–both a latching switch to turn the loop on and a momentary switch, which only produces feedback while being held down. Releasing the momentary feedback switch tames the switch into a normal true bypass looper. The deluxe momentary feedback looper also features a volume trim control for the true bypass loop.

The compact deluxe feedback looper has the same features as the regular deluxe feedback looper, but in a smaller ‘B’ sized enclosure. It has a toggle on the top of the pedal to engage the feedback function.

New feature! Starting with pedals built in mid-September 2021, our deluxe feedback loopers feature a new switching configuration. When producing feedback with the feedback toggle on, the momentary footswitch now works to momentarily turn the feedback off. When the feedback toggle is off, the momentary footswitch turns the feedback on.

The Controls

Our feedback loopers offer a variety of controls, depending on the model. The controls for the deluxe feedback loopers are listed below. Other models, such as the standard feedback looper and momentary feedback looper, will have fewer controls. You can disregard whichever controls don’t apply to your specific switch.

deluxe feedback manual

Latching switch: The latching switch engages or bypasses the true bypass loop.

Latching feedback switch: The latching feedback switch turns the feedback on/off.

Momentary footswitch: When the true bypass loop is on and the feedback toggle is off, holding down the momentary feedback footswitch activates the feedback. When the true bypass loop is on and the feedback toggle is on, holding down the momentary feedback footswitch turns the feedback off. Note: With the one-switch momentary only feedback looper, the momentary switch, along with a feedback knob, are the only controls.

Feedback toggle switch: When the true bypass loop is on, switching on the toggle engages the feedback control.

Volume control knob: When the true bypass loop is on, the volume control knob passively cuts the volume of the loop. It is usually marked with a V.

Feedback control knob: When the true bypass loop is on, the feedback control knob sets the feedback level. It is usually marked with an F.
